Norman Julius Ginter

He is survived by his wife Sylvia, his children, Keith (& Sharon), Laura (& Ron) McLeod, Brian (& Donna), Leanna (& Warren) Penner; and at the time of his death.

They have 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Julius and Lydia Ginter, sisters Agnes, Evelyn, Irene, Edna, and brother Lawrence.

In 1960 Norman married Sylvia Adams, and they were together for 66 wonderful years, while raising four children. Over the years Norm and Sylvia loved to entertain either on their farm in Richmond, or on their boat the “NOR-SYL” and later in their Langley homes. For most of his life Norm was self employed with his brother Harold, and they worked masterfully with heavy equipment all over Richmond building roads, parks, churches, homes, and many farms. He was a caring farmer and when something broke down, he was famous for making things work “The Ginter Way”. He would not buy the expensive replaceable parts, rather he would spend hours in the shop and lathe out his own parts.

Norman loved fishing and hunting, but he was never the one to actually take a life. He would always pass the rod or let one of the boys pull the trigger, then sleep while they did the clean up.

Norman loved his Lord and his testimony was always demonstrated by his quiet work. Family was at the forefront of his life and he passed down his passions and faith to his children, their children, and their children.

Norman’s health declined the past few years and he went unwillingly into the hospital on Monday. He held on for many to visit and we prayed that he would wait until the last two children would arrive in time from their travels. He passed peacefully on Sunday, The Lord’s Day, with all his family at his side attempting to sing, “ Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow…". It was a beautiful heavy moment as he entered Heaven to be with Jesus.

Norman left a legacy and will be greatly missed.
