Dear Darlene, Alex and Natasha,
Please accept our deepest condolences to the whole Hargreaves Family. We are blessed to have a neighbor like Mr. Richard who is always open to talk to whenever we were outside and lend a helping hand when needed in emergency or in day to day life. His kind, sincere words and a happy outlook on life will be remembered always. Mr. Richard is deeply missed but he left a wonderful legacy in his children.

My sincerest condolences to Darlene, Natasha and Alex, and all of the Hargreaves family.  Richard was always  a kind, and thoughtful boy, who grew to be a kind and caring man. He had a quiet strength that I admired. It still makes me laugh to think that Dar and Richard eloped in Vegas. They remain to this day the only people I know who have done this, and I still imagine someone dressed up as Elvis marrying them. This could be completely wrong and only in my imagination, as Elvis may not have been present but what a cool way to get married.  There is nothing I can say to ease your sorrow, or lessen the pain you must endure, but please know that we are all thinking of you at this time. 

Poem of remembrance.
"I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads his white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch him until at length he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says "There, he is gone."
"Gone where?"
"Gone from my sight. That is all."
He is just as large in mast and hull and spar as when he left my side and he is just as able to bear his load of
living freight to his destined port. His diminished size is in me, not in him. And just at that moment when someone says "There, he is gone" there are other eyes watching him coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout - "Here he comes!"
And that is dying."

We would like to express our deepest condolences to Darlene, Natasha, Alex and the Hargreaves family. Wishing you all courage, strength and love to help you through this loss.

	 We were very blessed and grateful to have Richard in our family. His kindness and generosity were greatly appreciated over the years. We were fortunate to have many adventures out on the boat, where Richard was truly in his element. In addition, to his love for sailing Richard loved hockey and we had the opportunity to attend many hockey games over the years. Whether the occasion was double date night, a birthday celebration or a family outing. Richard expressed his appreciation and fond memories of attending the hockey games. He especially enjoyed the World Junior Hockey game Canada vs. Russia. We lost, but all in attendance had a great time. 
	I was extremely grateful to have the opportunity to thank Richard for being a great husband to my sister, an amazing Dad to Natasha and Alex, a good son-in-law to our Mom, a great Uncle to our daughter Ashley and a wonderful bother- in- law to myself and Adrian.  Our fond memories of family gatherings will remain in are hearts forever.
 May you rest in peace Richard.

I think of Richard as “a gentle giant”,  one with an easy temperament and without envy, a quality that few have.  An all around nice guy.   Family is forever and even though Richard has passed away, he lives on in all our hearts and minds. May you find comfort in your memories.
