Rino Bellini

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rino Bellini on July 22, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by family.

Rino is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Linda Bellini, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He leaves behind his five children: Angela, Lisa (Danny), Barbara (Jeff), Robert (Jessica), and Paul (Nadia). He was a proud and loving Nonno to his eleven cherished grandchildren: James, Jackson, Amelia, Stella, Chiara, Ashley, Lucas, Anika, Spiro, Dominic, and Aidan. Whether cheering them on, sharing stories, offering advice, or simply spending time together, every moment with them was precious.

Rino was predeceased by his beloved brother, Ugo Bellini, and is fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Florence Bellini and his nephews, Luigi and Marc.

Born on January 27, 1941, in the small farming town of Taglio di Po, Italy, Rino grew up around the end of the Second World War. Those early experiences instilled in him core values that would guide him throughout his life—hard work, resilience, humility, and the importance of family.

In 1959, with hope for a brighter future, Rino immigrated to Canada, arriving with little more than determination and a dream of building a better life. He first settled in Winnipeg, where he worked in woodworking and millwork, quickly earning the respect of his employers through his skill, reliability, and incomparable work ethic. Eventually, he made his way to British Columbia, where he soon established his own successful construction company.

Rino was equally devoted to his Italian heritage and community. As President of the Roma Hall for a decade, he worked tirelessly to bring people together, celebrate Italian traditions, and strengthen the community he loved.

To those who knew him, Rino will always be remembered as a man of unwavering character. He was loyal, honest, generous, and fiercely devoted to the people he loved. He believed in consistently doing things the right way, treating others with respect, and never being afraid of hard work. He also had a special love for animals, whose companionship brought him great joy throughout his life.

Rino's greatest legacy is not the homes he built or the business he created—it is the family he nurtured, the values he passed on, and the example he set. His journey from a small village in Italy to building a beautiful life in Canada is a testament to courage, determination, and the enduring power of family.

A Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Church, 2250–150 Street, Surrey, B.C., on August 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will follow at Roma Hall, 940 Ewen Avenue, New Westminster, B.C., at 1:00 p.m.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Parkinson Society of B.C. in his memory.
