Bob was born in Edmonton, Alberta to John and Annie Boychuk. At 15, after the passing of his father, Bob continued to work the family farm in Ellscott with his sister, Betty (pre-deceased), and his mother. Three years later, Bob moved west to BC, and found work on a drilling crew, and later a sawmill. Bob then got married, bought a small home in Richmond, and raised three boys: Johnny (pre-deceased), Stephen and Brett.
Bob then found further success in real estate sales and home construction. In 1990, he acquired a rental property in the Trail area, and later purchased acreage near Fruitvale. With the help of his sons and local friends, he cleared the land and built a beautiful log home. Over the next 25 years, it was here that he made lifelong friends and created some of his family’s most treasured memories.
In 2015, illness brought Bob back to Abbotsford where he could be closer to his sons.
Bob was well respected by many for his generosity and kindness. He was an inspiration and the impact he has had on our lives is immeasurable. We will all miss his warm smile and kind spirit.
He will be lovingly remembered by his friends and family; sons, Stephen (Sheila) and Brett (Lori), grandkids Mitchell, Halie, Riley and Courtenay, as well as nephew, Davie (Nabiha), and niece, Debbie (Cliff).
Bob’s final resting place will be next to his son, Johnny, at Victory Memorial Park in Surrey, BC.
