I have been out of town and was just notified of Bobs passing. I very much enjoyed working with Bob over the years. His knowledge and overall kindness that he showed to others was an inspiration to all. Thank you Bob. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.   Paul Hicks

Bob and I grew up together as friends and teenagers in northern Ontario.  I first met Bob sitting on an old tractor while haying.  From that day on, we became best friends.  We spent lots of time together, and spent summers and as much time as we could working on and enjoying Weir's farm.  Much of our time centred around the farm.  We explored, went duck hunting, hiked, travelled, talked and supported each other through the teen years.  We even named a lake after ourselves and carved "Dabo Lake" on a tree.  (David=Da/ Bob=Bo =DaBo)  
He would often leave work at the steel mill in the Soo on a Friday night and arrive at our "little house on the prairie" in Bruce Mines in the middle of the night, throwing himself on the small bed in our kitchen.  Saturday we would play games, hunt, target practise with our guns, play baseball or hockey, or just talk. 
We had a great group of Christian friends back then who supported each other spiritually and helped each other to maintain a strong faith.  They were great years!
Our friendship continued into our married years.  Diane and I spent the second night of our honeymoon at the Linklaters in the Soo.🤣Our family stayed  on vacation with the Linklaters at their home in the Soo for a week,  And again for a week in Vancouver.  While there, I will not forget Bob's generosity.  Our transmission went on our van and Bob fully paid to have it repaired. 
I remember you, Bob, with fondness and the great memories are numerous.  
I'll see you again one day, my friend.

We will always remember Bob with great fondness. He was a kind and friendly neighbour who always took the time to say hello, ask how our family was doing, and never drove by without a wave. His gentle kindness made our community a better place. Our heartfelt condolences go to Arlene, and family.

I am sad to hear of Bob's passing, yet excited that he is now with his Lord, at peace and no pain.  Eternal life.  That is what he preached and lived by.  Bob was my boss, my mentor, my friend and I saw him like a big brother.  Though his position was busy, he always took time to find out how my family was  doing.  He stood up for his employees when they were wronged but also gently reprimanded when one would stray.   I would consider my 10 some years working under his leadership were my best years at Victory.  He allowed me to stretch beyond my abilities and learn new things that I would never consider trying.   I am a better person because of his leadership in my life. Blessings on you Arlene and family as you walk through these next few days.   I am away during the service but my spirit will be with yours.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. He was truly a kind and thoughtful man who had a special gift for making people feel important. He always remembered the little details and would ask about them the next time we spoke. I feel grateful to have known him, and I will always remember his warmth and kindness. My condolences to Bobs family. I was hired by him and Don Caulder as a family Service consultant. I was proud to work under there leadership. Bob was always available and a great source of encouragement. He will be remembered and be sadly missed. Victory memorial park was never the same without him.
