Bob was born in Victoria, grew up in East Vancouver, and lived in North Delta for many years until retiring in Surrey. Bob loved the outdoors and always looked forward to camping, fishing, and skiing. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the efforts of the Canucks and Seahawks, as well as golf and formula racing. He coached football in North Delta and helped with a girl’s softball team that reached the Nationals. In his later years Bob spent time puttering around his garden, making beautiful hanging baskets, and listening to the many classic 60’s and 70’s albums from his collection. His travels took him to Hawaii, Mexico, and Fiji. Family and friendships meant everything to Bob and he always loved vacations with friends, dinners with his extended family, and the occasional spirited house party. Bob drove truck for most of his working life starting at CP Merchandise and retiring from Safeway Canada. Bob was pre-deceased by his son Darren in 1985. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Karen, daughter, Lisa Lowry (Mike), grandson, Michael Lowry (Chane), great grandchildren, Maverick and Myles Lowry, and many other extended family members.
