Sylvia Margaritte (née Ropcean) Cox

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sylvia Margaritte Cox (née Ropcean), on September 8, 2026, at the age of 89.

Sylvia was born and raised in Bellis, Alberta, the 14th of 15 children to Annie and John Ropcean.

She will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Douglas Keating (Brenda), Patricia Badger (Grant), Cheryl Baker (Bob), Denise Slater-O’Regan (Michael), stepson Alvin Cox, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory in their hearts for years to come.

Sylvia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Allan Cox, in 2007, her son, Sheldon Keating, in 2011, and stepson Robert Cox in 2018.

Sylvia lived a life centered around family, friends, love, and the many memories she created with those closest to her. She will be remembered for the love she gave her family and for the special place she held in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.

At her request, no funeral or celebration of life will take place.
