It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, who had the pleasure to know him.
Wayne is predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Leslie – after her passing three years ago, it was very difficult for our father to move on with out her, yet he made the best of it with the support of his family and dear friends. He will be remembered lovingly, as a wonderful and inspiring father by his two children, Glen and Casey, son in law Spencer, grandchildren Kelsea, Payton and Myah and great grandchildren George and Stella, and his family and friends throughout Winnipeg and Vancouver.
Wayne Winston Marsh was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, to James and Violet Broatch, and sibling to Diane, Ralph, Bruce and Jamie. Wayne grew up in Winnipeg and has many friends and colleagues and family remaining. He had many happy memories of his family cottages at Winnipeg Beach, where the family and friends spent a lot of time. Wayne met Leslie, just out of high school, the love of his life. Wayne was part of Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry out of high school and was proud of this time. Wayne and Leslie remained in Winnipeg and had their first child ,Glen, in Winnipeg and in 1973 moved to Vancouver to have their second child, Casey. Wayne and Leslie remained in Vancouver for the rest of their lives, raising their children and grandchildren, end enjoying the west coast lifestyle that Wayne loved.
Wayne relocated with the family to Vancouver to represent the fastener industry in the West. He had a successful business in the garment industry and spent his career in all areas of the garment and apparel industry, smiling his way through the factories and making dear friends with all of his customers, most who have become lifelong friends. Wayne loved to golf and spent many days a week enjoying rounds at Peace Portal or Marine Drive and many other golf courses, and many golf trips with Leslie and dear friends through the U.S and Canada.
The sadness of our loss is only relieved knowing that he is with our mother Leslie now and they are together once again. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by all who knew his wit and humour, friendly smile and love of animals and golf. May there be endless French fries and steak with you now Dad. We will miss you every day.
