Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in Middleburg Heights, Ohio for many years before moving to Swansea in 1979. David was placed in foster care at the age of five. He had no true family until he married Mary Anne and was lovingly welcomed by her parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

A Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker, he won an award for his oversight of the installation of the H.V.A.C. system at the Metro General Hospital. In his later years, he was a driver for M.C. Dave was a Patriots fan but his heart always had a place for the Browns. His yard was his pride and joy and he was known for his large vegetable garden.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two brothers-in-law: Brian Serra and his wife Deborah of Fairport Harbor, OH, Randal Serra and his wife Susan of Madison, OH, dear friends: Eddie and Renette Gendreau, Manny and Pauline Miranda all of Swansea, and many nieces and nephews.
