Harold K. Sutcliffe, Jr. “Harry”, age 72, of Swansea, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Fatima (Medeiros) Sutcliffe, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Harold K. Sutcliffe, Sr. and Isabelle (Carvalho) Sutcliffe, he was a resident of Swansea for 48 years.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1966, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Working as a welder at Electric Boat in Quonset for several years, he retired in 1995. Harry was a coach and board member for Swansea Little League for many years.
A devoted husband, father, uncle and papa, he was a true family man at heart and above all loved spending time with his family and watching his grandson and friends play soccer, basketball and baseball.
In addition to his wife survivors include: two loving daughters, Jennifer J. Sousa and her husband John Phillip Sousa and Dianna L. Sutcliffe and her partner James Kirker; one beloved grandson, Jarrod H. Sutcliffe; sister, Joanne Jean; sister-in-law, Ingrid Sutcliffe and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Stephen Sutcliffe and brother-in-law of the late Doug Jean.
His visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea.
Funeral and burial will be private.
