

J. Brian Keating, 89, of Warren, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was the devoted husband of the late Eileen (O'Heir) Keating.
Born in Quincy, Brian was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Twomey) Keating.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Brian later enjoyed a successful career in the lumber business for many years before becoming the co-owner of Bath Fitter in Rhode Island prior to retiring. He was a devout Catholic, avid card player, and tennis enthusiast. He was a longstanding member of the Woodchuckers Golf League for over forty years. Brian was also a devoted fan of New England's sports teams, holding season tickets to the New England Patriots for many decades.
Brian was always very proud of his Irish heritage. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, as well as his many dachshunds who were constant companions throughout his life.
He is survived by his children: Virginia Keating of Swansea, Philip Keating of Manchester by the Sea, J. Daniel Keating and his wife Barbara of Rehoboth, Sean Keating of St. Petersburg, FL, Christopher Keating and his wife Sharon of Tiverton, and Andrew Keating and his wife Patrice of Bristol. He was the proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary (Keating) Conley, Edward Keating, Gregory Keating, Geoffrey Keating, Paula (Keating) Murphy, and Lian (Keating) Roach.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Brian’s funeral will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Burial will be private.
