Joseph “Joe” P. Tobin, age 56, of Swansea, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Dawn (Scholes) Tobin, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Thomas and Virginia (St. Pierre) Tobin, he was a life-long resident of the area.
Joe was a union carpenter for Local #346 for many years. He enjoyed being able to travel while he was employed by Wellington Sales and Installation as well as L&J Associates.
An avid New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed listening to classic rock, playing the guitar and loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
In addition to his wife survivors include: three children, Desiree Sousa, Joseph P. Tobin Jr. and Kyle G. Barlow all of Swansea; one granddaughter, Madyson Barlow; two brothers, Thomas Tobin, Jr. and Jeffrey Tobin and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Shawn Tobin.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours, Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial is private.
