

He is survived by his dad James A. Mello, Jr. and his mom Claire M. (Boulay) Mello of Swansea; his brother, James A. Mello, III of Johnston, RI; his sister, Heather Santos and her husband David of Swansea, his two much loved nieces, Hailey and Hannah; his Great Grandmother Franceline Veader of Rehoboth, Grandmother Germane Boulay of Fall River, and his beloved bulldog, Dozer.
Josh was an amazingly talented equipment operator; a skill he learned very early on in life from his dad and “unc”. He worked for the family’s business, Candigit Excavating Corp for 10 years and was recently employed by Lynch Corp in Okeechobee, FL. He loved driving his Custom low ride Chevy pick-up with air lifts. He was an avid and fearless dirt bike rider. He also loved the beach and fishing. Most of all Josh loved family and was proud to be an uncle.
His Funeral will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3:00PM to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to the Swansea Ambulance Corps to assist in funding equipment for Emergency Responders. Burial private.
