Lucille Lou G. Gauvin Rousseau

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Berube) Gauvin, she spent her youth in Fall River and lived in Swansea for over 55 years. She and her husband moved to Apollo Beach, Florida for 6 years, returning to Swansea 5 years ago.

Mrs. Rousseau had been a seamstress for various Fall River Mills for several years. A homemaker, she loved to cook, read, knit and mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1941.

Lou is also survived by her daughter, Carol A. Mello and her husband Roger of Swansea, MA, her son, Charles E. Rousseau and his wife Joanne of Center Conway, NH, her sister Claire LePage and her husband Al of Fall River, her grandchildren, Christopher Mello and his wife Emily and Matthew Mello and one great grandson, Jason Christopher Mello. She was sister of the late Arlene St. Germaine, Bertrand, Bernard and Raymond Gauvin.

Her funeral will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 8:00 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd. Swansea with a funeral mass at 9:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd Swansea. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM.
