

Born in Riverside, California, a daughter of the late Donald F. and Marilyn (MacMullen) Riel, she had been a longtime resident of the town of Swansea.
She was a graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1976. Peggy attended UMass Dartmouth and the Sawyer School of Business. She worked as a medical assistant for many years at Anchor Medical and was a successful sales rep and leader for Avon. She received numerous awards for being one of the top sales reps in the country and traveled around the United States as a representative. In the early 2000's, Peggy ran daycare from her home and raised many children whom she was so proud of.
Peggy was an animal lover who enjoyed watching movies and listening to the Beach Boys. In high school, she cherished her time as a majorette and later took great pride in watching her daughter perform in the high school marching band, the very same band that Peggy was in during her time at Joseph Case High School.
She is survived by one daughter, Victoria L. Jessop of Providence, one sister, Mary P. Bigda and her husband John of Swansea and many nieces and nephews including James P. Bigda of Swansea, Donald J. Bigda and his wife Taylor of Warwick. She was the sister of the late Donald J. Riel.
Private services are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, Swansea. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
