Martha J. “Pat” (Friel) Gleason, age 86, of The Willows in Warren, Rhode Island and formerly of Marathon, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020. She was the wife of the late Edward P. Gleason.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John and Ruth (Burger) Friel, she had lived in Marathon, Florida for many years before moving to Warren, Rhode Island two years ago.
Pat was the owner and operator of Anchor Lite Botel in Marathon, Florida for many years. She loved fishing on the Marathon Lady Boat and she took great pride in outfishing the old men on the boat.
She is survived by three children, Donna Gregory and her husband Joseph of Swansea, Massachusetts, Michael Quay and his wife Marlene Drape of Portsmouth, Rhode Island and Nancy Connelly and her husband Joseph of Hudson, Florida; four grandchildren, Tara Jabour, Benjamin Quay, Jason Gregory and Nicholas Gregory; ten great grandchildren; one brother, George Friel and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jack Friel and Sally Snyder.
Funeral and burial will be private. Arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, Swansea.
