Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Coderre) Salvas. Michael was a graduate of Joseph Case High School and received an Associate’s degree from Bristol Community College.
A proud Veteran of the United States Marines, he previously worked as a as fabricator/welder building submarines at Electric Boat and at Otis Air Force base designing well systems to help clean contaminated grounds.
Always good with his hands, Michael enjoyed woodworking, building models and was also computer savvy. He loved driving through Colt State Park and stargazing through his telescope. An avid Red Sox fan, Michael loved not only watching the pros play but also his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by three children, Michael Salvas of N. Attleboro, Kristopher Salvas of Swansea and Heather Amaral and her husband Jeff of Swansea; three grandchildren, Xavier, Hayley and Jayden; two great-grandchildren, Xylie and Emery; one sister, Sue Znoj and her husband Jim of Swansea, as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael was the brother of the late Joey and Dave Salvas and Dianne Grota.
His Funeral Services will be private.
