63, Sydney Mines
Adrian Devoe, son of the late Arnold and Margaret (McBride) Devoe, of
Sydney Mines, passed away suddenly on Oct. 30, 2014.
Born in Sydney Mines, Adrian was the youngest of his brothers and sister
and as such enjoyed their love and care until the time of his death.
Adrian proudly worked for the Sydney Steel Corporation and as a long-haul
truck operator. He travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United
States during his career with J.P MacInnis Trucking Ltd. Some of his
fondest moments were travelling to new places and meeting friends along
the way.
Adrian happily spent his childhood summers at the family cottage in
Orangedale. He also enjoyed many seasons fishing in Middle River. His keen
love of music and sense of humor will be remembered by those who knew him.
Adrian is survived by his three children, Angela Coleman (Grahame), Adrian
Jr. and Benjamin Devoe (Jacklyn). Adrian also leaves behind three
grandchildren, Lily, Rory and Sam. He shared this family with the mother
of his children, Brenda Rankin Devoe. As well as his three
siblings, Maureen (Gil) Gilmore of Ottawa, Joseph (Betty) Devoe and Kevin
(Heather) Devoe both of Sydney Mines. Adrian always delighted in the
company of his many nieces and nephews and their children.
Adrian will be sadly missed by his children, family and friends. We gain
comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved parents. His
brothers’ playful final wish is that Adrian ‘keep on truckin’!
A celebration of life service will be held at the Fillmore & Whitman
Funeral Home in Sydney Mines on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 11a.m. with
Fr. Thomas John officiating.
Donations in Adrian's memory can be made to his favourite charity,
Christmas Daddies.
