Anne Marie was born in Millville on March 7, 1947, the youngest daughter of the late Francis and Emile LeBlanc. Anne Marie was a spirited soul, always up for any adventure and finding joy in the outdoors. She found her greatest joy in the simple moments with her family, taking long walks in the forest, talking around the kitchen table with her siblings, watching movies and playing crazy eights with the grandchildren, or just being together. She spent a number of years residing in Ontario. Driven by an abiding love for her home, Anne Marie eventually returned to her beloved Cape Breton. Over the subsequent years, all of her children also felt the pull of home, joining her in establishing their lives together once again in Nova Scotia.
Anne Marie is lovingly remembered by her four children — David Long (Marissa), Michael Long (Janet), Tracy Long (Mike), and Cindy Long. Ten cherished grandchildren — Justin, Terry, Jordan, Skyler, Logan, Nathan, Krista, Brennen, Nicholas, and Erin. Seven beloved great-grandchildren — Leah, Avery, Cameron, Henry, Noah, Eli, and Miles. She is also dearly missed by her siblings — Teen, Fanny, Yvonne (John), Junior, and Joey (Shirley) along with many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. Anne Marie's love for her family was endless and her memory will forever live in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Little Bras d’Or on Friday, November 7, at 1:00 p.m. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family by visiting fillmoreandwhitman.com.
Forever loved and always remembered.
