Born and raised in Sydney Mines on September 4, 1942, he was a son of the Late Daniel Joseph and Harriett Helen (Belmore) Lettice.

Danny was a coal miner for 38 years, retiring in 1993, at which time he turned his hand to cabinet making, creating another full time job. This hobby turned passion kept him busy through the winter months, and allowed he and Bernadette to pursue their shared love of travel. Whether on a boat or in the RV, they were at home on the road, especially in the nooks and crannies of Newfoundland. Upon Bernadette’s passing in 2008, he continued to spend his summers enjoying the trailer in Lake Ainslie with his dog Misty, until his cancer diagnosis 2016.

Danny is survived by his children Daniel “Jimmy” (Dawna), Sydney Mines, Linda (Late Bill MacLeod), Southside Boularderie, Greg (Lise Marple), Sydney Mines, Darrell (Candace White), Alberta, step-daughter Jean-Marie Rendell, Sydney Mines, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
