Shirley loved her small community of Little Pond. She was the owner of the Little Pond Pool Hall Canteen, where everyone came to enjoy a game of pool or a place for the youth to gather and be safe. Her car was always full of children driving to boy scouts, girl guides, air cadets or to the high school Friday night dance. If any child needed a drive, she was there.
Shirley loved to travel especially with her children and grandchildren throughout North America, heading out on many adventures. She loved and celebrated all holidays especially Christmas with decorating her tree, this past year was even more special with her handmade bows. Mom loved to dance and listen to her favourite artist, Johnny Cash ending the night with a dance on the table.
Shirley was a member of many organizations including the Northside Seniors and Pensioners Club which was very close to her heart. She was an advocate for seniors, people needing housing or employment. Shirley was passionate about helping people that needed a little hand up. She worked in healthcare for many years making the lives for seniors more comfortable and doing what she does best, caring for people.
