It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Sylvia Ann Robinson, on September 17, 2026, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She was born in Neil's Harbour, Nova Scotia on March 2nd, 1954. Mom was 72 years of age at the time of her passing.
Sylvia is predeceased by her husband Harry Robinson, her brother Alonzo, as well as her sisters, Janet and Maxine. Sylvia is also predeceased by her parents, Alonzo and Effie Donovan, as well as her sons-in-law, David, Sam and Gary.
Our mom is survived by us, her daughters, Victoria, Tracey and Janet, and her sons Michael and Toby (Rachel). Mom is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole, Jessica, Kyla, Jesse, Jamie, Charlene, Mitchell, Erika, Rebecca and Jacob, as well as her great grandchildren Emilia, Finnley, Tommy, Logan Jade and Nash. Mom is also survived by her sisters Mary Turner (Munroe), Viola Shupe (Darrell), Rita Stockley (Garry), Hilda Donovan, and Roxanne Donovan, as well as her brothers Deo and Reece. Mom also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Cheryl Robinson. We will all miss her deeply.
Sylvia worked at Keltic Lodge in Ingonish, NS for 25 years as the Housekeeping Supervisor. One of mom's favorite past times was playing darts with her friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, 36205 Cabot Trail, Ingonish Beach on Tuesday, September 29th from 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, September 30th at 11 am at St. Peter's Church, Ingonish, with interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
