Vi was born in Sydney, N.S., on November 6th, 1947, and was the daughter of late Johnnie and Edie (MacVicar) Nolan. In her early years, she completed Cape Breton Business College and on July 29th, 1967, she married Lloyd Donovan. Afterward, they went on to work and live in Toronto and later returned to their beloved Ingonish to work and raise their family.
Vi was both the business partner and bookkeeper for Ingonish Contracting, along with many other business ventures that her and Lloyd embarked on. In her retirement years, Vi was happiest watching her games shows, her Hallmark channel movies or completing her word search puzzles. Vi will always be remembered as a kind soul and will be greatly missed in the community. She was someone who always made time to sit, have a coffee and a laugh, welcoming all those who would drop by.
Vi was pre-deceased by her husband, Lloyd Donovan, her bother-in-law, Wayne MacGibbon, and her nephew, Kenneth Nolan.
Left to mourn are her son, Brian, daughter-in-law, Leah, and her two treasured grandchildren, Aiden and Allie. Vi will be sadly missed by her family from the hill, her brothers Richard (Sandra) Nolan and Bobby (Ruth Anne) Nolan; her sister Karen Pupulin; nephews Andre (Carolyn) Pupulin; Kevin (Mora) Nolan; Charles Nolan; Daniel (Samantha) Nolan.
Vi will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Camilla MacGibbon; brother-in-law, Vince (Judy) Donovan; sister-in-law, Maisie (Bob) Weeks along with her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends from both near and far.
