Born on September 3, 2011, Aidan was the beloved son of Adrienne Peters and Sulian Denny, and the cherished brother of Braelyn "Gracie" and Spencer "Spenny" Peters. He was a proud community member of both Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation and Eskasoni First Nation, carrying his culture and family with radiant, strength, and love.
Aidan had an unforgettable laughter with an unconditional heart full of light and love that he brought to everyone he met and knew. Aidan authentically expressed his unconditional love through displaying emotions in the moment and being able to respectfully navigate his emotional attunement. He loved passionately and fiercely, and he was the best big brother to Spenny and Gracie. His spirit will continue to guide and protect his family, who love him beyond measure.
He was open and excited to travel, fearlessly gaining new life experiences while lovingly holding space for his siblings, Spenny and Gracie. Aidan and his Mom had an unbreakable bond, that was created by embracing and living in the moment. It wasn’t without its tumultuous energy that would later be memories through teasing, laughter, and banter. Adrienne empathized fostering a budding and developing relationship with transparency through conversation and shared experiences together.
Aidan had fostered an interest in becoming a tradesman, whether it was through carpentry or plumbing, along with a childhood and lifelong desire to become a First Responder.
Aidan shared a special bond with his dad, Sulian. He was his father’s moose caller—and the best one there was. He loved to fish with his dad, do some work alongside him, and spend time outdoors. Aidan enjoyed driving the ATV and setting up trail cams to find deer, and he was always eager to help track and find good hunting spots. These were moments that brought him joy, laughter, and pride—memories his dad will hold close forever.
Aidan’s light reached far beyond his family. At school and in the community, he was known as a kind, funny, and talented young man. Friends and classmates remember his bright smile, his sense of humour, and how naturally he lifted others up. He was an amazing athlete, especially in basketball, and a loyal friend who made everyone feel seen. Teachers spoke of his intelligence and big heart, and his peers described him as someone who "had so much potential and a whole life ahead of him." The community of Eskasoni gathered in song and prayer, smudging and drumming in his honour—a display of the effect he had in community.
He is survived by his Matriarch, Adrienne; his father, Sulian; Momma, Elizabeth Gould. He is also lovingly remembered by his Matriarchal Grandmother, Judy Peters, and Papa, John MacIsaac and his Nanny, Mildred Poulette.
Aidan will be dearly missed by his Matriarchal aunts - Carla, Annika, Molly, Linda (Frank), Crystal (Leo), and Jenna - along with his Matriarchal uncles - Matthew "Auntie Matt" (Michelle) and Cote.
He will be lovingly remembered by his paternal uncles, Michael R. Denny (Koran/"Babe") of Eskasoni and Matthew Rivera of Holbrook, MA; his aunt, Charisma Denny (Sappy), lovingly known as Auntie Princess; and his great-aunt, Georgina Doucette.
Aidan was blessed with godparents, Auriel Paul, Michael R. Denny, Vaughen Doucette Jr., and Genine Paul-Dimitracopoulos, who will miss him immensely.
He was welcomed in the spirit world by his Matriarchal grandfather, the late Emmett Peters (Papa Bear); cousin, Ethan Ashawasegai; and paternal grandparents, the late Jake (Bmpa) and Barbara Denny.
Aidan will be welcomed home to Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation on November 6, 2025, at the family home located at 16 Saqamaw Road, Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation. The wake will be open for public visitation after 7 p.m.
