It is with deep sadness that we announce that our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother Albert Henry Webb peacefully passed away at Glace Bay Hospital on Wednesday, Mar. 18 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA to Ervin and Mary (Sylliboy) Webb on June 9, 1954. Albert grew up in the USA and spent his early years with the US Navy. In 1997, he moved to Sydney to care for his mother. When not working as a cab driver with City Wide, he enjoyed playing video games, music and karaoke. Albert is survived by his wife Patsy, his children Matthew (Georgina), Kristie (Adam), Jennifer (Shayne) and Cindy (Joey), grandchildren Emma, Jacob, AJ, Carleen, David, Heather, Beth, Brook, Breanna, Troy Jr., Alleena and Gemma as well as 2 great grandchildren, his sister Genine “Squirt” Borah, neices and nephews Susan, Tommy, Steve, Dawn, Terri and Sharen and many cousins in Eskasoni. Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his sister Margaret Weidemann, brother John (Johnny) Paulette and nephew David Paulette. A private family gathering will take place. The family would like to thank the palliative care nurses, the staff at the cancer center and all of the staff on Glace Bay Hospitals 4N for the wonderful care they provided to Albert. I absolutely loved hearing all of his stories while cabbing back and forth to work or school. He was an absolute treasure. I always felt safe in his cab and felt like I was getting into a pal’s car. I will miss his commentary to what was heard on the radio. My condolences goes out to his family and friends.
