Annie Jane MacKenzie

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Annie Jane MacKenzie of Christmas Island. Mom passed away on March 26,2021 at the Cove Guest Home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dominion she was the daughter of the late Freddie and Minnie (Bonaparte) Young. Annie is survived by sons Ronnie (Eileen), Charles (Arlene), James (Jackie), David (Arlene) and Michael (Cathy); Daughters Anna (Gerald), Rosemary, Shirley (Nick), Mary Lucina (Sandy); Daughter in law Bernice MacKenzie, 24 Grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and sister Rita. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Roddie (Ronald), sons Freddy and Joseph ; sister Tina; brother Sonny; son-in-law Roddie MacNeil and step-mother Mary Elizabeth MacDonald. Annie was a devoted Catholic and past member of St. Barra Church in Christmas Island. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of TW Curry Parkview Chapel. Due to COVID a memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Annie's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to Thank the staff and Dr. Archibald of the Cove Guest Home for taking such great care of Mom. A Mother's Love is a blessing no matter where you roam, keep her while she's living , You'll miss her when she's gone.

Granny was a strong and loving women, my memories of her,she always looked good, her hair , nails were always done nice.
She was also very welcoming anyone and everyone were always welcomed up on the hill for some tea and good cooking!
She was a devoted Catholic , she told me one time dont ever loose faith in God even in your darkest time he will show you light be patient.
My condolences go out to all my aunts and uncles you were all blessed to have a strong loving mother.
My condolences also to my cousins and friends who loved granny.
I hope we all find comfort in the memories we have of her

Lots of beautiful memories of visiting and overnights on the hill with Annie in charge of the crew. Whether in the pantry preparing, in the porch separating milk, baking, laundry chores,
