He was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Eskasoni.
Anthony is survived by his son Kenneth John Francis (Marica Marshall), two brothers, John Joseph Basque Jr, Vincent William Basque, five sisters, Freda Kabatay of Membertou, Connie Rose Basque, Mary Bridget Johnson, Annie Bridget Mustfa, Susanne Tracey Basque all of Paqtnkek. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Khole, Styles, Lucifer and Khristopher and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
As well as his parents, Anthony was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Clara Googoo, daughter Takisha Star Googoo, sister Donna Echevarria, brother Floyd Basque, and niece Kylie Basque.
Anthony loved volunteering as a security guard at Powwows, and volunteered at Eskasoni Elementary School for many years. Anthony loved fishing almost daily during fishing season and loved hunting for rabbits.
He loved being with his family and friends, and his contagious smile and laugh were hard to miss. He enjoyed visitors coming around to keep him company, and gladly entertain them. He enjoyed a special bond with grandson Lucifer.
Visitation begins 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 23rd at 8 Lewis Edward Lane, Paqtnkek. Visitation will resume, Monday May 25th at 7 p.m. in the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni. The mass will take place at 10 a.m on Tuesday May 26th at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting twcurry.com.
