Barbara Ann Gould-Sylliboy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born July 9, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Knockwood) Gould.

She was a devoted Christian, her strong faith was a big part of her life and she shared this through her prayers with her family and community when called upon. Barbara showed her artistic side in the native jewelry and Christmas wreaths she made, along with traditional crafts she created. She loved sharing her time with her family and friends in her home, where she was most comfortable.

Barbara is survived by her husband Frank Sylliboy; son Lloyd (Ramona) Gould; grandchildren Logan Gould and Kendra (Russell) Marshall; great grandchildren Kaydence and Keyra Marshall; brothers Hubert (Sylvia) and Roderick ‘Roddy’(Donna) Gould; godchild Coral Gould and by numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

She was predeceased by her baby brother Lloyd.

Visitation for Barbara Gould-Sylliboy will begin on Saturday, March 25 after 7 pm at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 27 at 2 pm at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
