It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and brother. Born in Trepassey NFLD, he was the son of the late Wilson and Ita Ryan, and the chosen son of the late Patrick and Josephine Sutton. Barry spent most of his life on the water for work and pleasure, he enjoyed hockey especially the Montreal Canadiens, most of all he loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughters. Barry is survived by his daughter Cassandra, grandchildren Natalie and Bailey. Brothers; Leo (Joan), Fabian (Regina), Kenneth (Margie), Max (Jo-ann), Vince (Carol), sisters; Mary (Jim) Pennell, Evelyn (Jim) Corcoran, Patricia (Ted) Bassett, Trudy (Ernie) Kennedy, as well as many nieces & nephews, a wide circle of friends and the mother of his daughter Mary MacLellan. Besides his parents Barry was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Allan, & Gerard, as well as his sister Dora. A funeral service will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, on Tuesday March 12 at 2 pm, with Fr. Bill Burke presiding. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

When I was a wee one, I remember Barry babysitting me. He taught me card tricks, pen games, funny doodles and jokes. I always had the best time when he was around. I'm sorry to hear that he is gone. My condolences to all of his close family and friends.
