Membertou
The family sadly announces the sudden passing of Cameron Joseph Paul, age 67 of Membertou, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Formerly of Eskasoni, he was born in Sydney, the son of the late Edward and Mary Ann (Alex) Paul.
An outdoor enthusiast, Cameron enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping with his family. Every summer was spent enjoying the beauty of Ben Eoin with his wife, Diane, either relaxing in the trailer or adventuring on the water with his boat. Cameron had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Benji and Spike and enjoyed treating them to a road trip every morning to Tim Hortons. Nothing gave Cameron greater joy than being Papa to his grandchildren Maria and Spencer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane (Clemens) Paul; son Michael Cameron Paul; daughter Lisa (Buddy) Young; grandchildren Maria and Spencer; brother Ernest (Miney) Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Cameron was predeceased by his sister Mary Catherine (Paul) Googoo; brothers John Alex (Maine), Greg Johnston, Nicholas Paul.
Visitation for Mr. Paul will begin at 7 pm on Thursday, November 8 at the family residence on 18 Maillard Street, Membertou. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, November 10 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr. Bill Burke officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
