

Carman was employed with the Sydney Steel Corporation for 37 years. His favorite hobbies included outdoors with his tractor tending to his garden and spending time at his bungalow in Englishtown.
Carman was born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Samuel and Philomena (Marinelli) Di Vito.
Carman is survived by his loving life long companion of 46 years, Louise LeMoine of North Sydney, son Gordon (Kim) of Bridgewater; daughter Sandra (Martin) of Grande Prairie. The greatest Poppy to both Hunter and Ethan, stepchildren Ann and Henry and step grandchildren Sandi and Rosanne. Also survived by his brother Frank (Pat) of Sydney, sisters Anna (Cyril) of Blacketts Lake, Eleanor of Antigonish, Mary of Toronto, sister-in-law Alice of Sydney and special friends, Stewart, Jed, Jeannie, Kay and friends who will never be forgotten, Lonnie, Willard and Dougie.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Theresa, brother Tony and brother-in-law Raymond.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at the Northside Guest Home, for all the great care and support.
Visitation for Mr. DeVito will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Sunday, August 12 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 pm on Monday, August 13 at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
