

It is with deepest regret that we announce how broken our hearts are from the passing of our sweet little angel, Chenielle Skye Doucette, who passed away on September 3, 2025 at her family home in Eskasoni First Nation.
Our beautiful Chenielle Skye, is survived by her parents, Megan Herney and Hugh Doucette, both from Eskasoni First Nation. She is also survived by her older sisters, Mataiya and Haystin, and older brothers, Malik, Skyler, Dakota (Ashlyn), Hughston, Noah, and Evander; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Tracy Young & Rodney Byer.
By her paternal grandparents, PJ & Jermaine Doucette and maternal great-grandmother, Theresa Dennis.
She is also survived by her aunts, Caitlin, Leanne, Ocean, Elizabeth, Carol Ann Johnson (Tom Sr.), and Nerissa Doucette (Gary ) her Uncles, Noel, Victor, Morgan, and JP(Lisa). Her nephews, Sawyer, Scyler, Ashtyn, Zakoa and Kyaire, cousins Graydon, Harlynn, Ace, Nathan, Mateo, and Ainsley, Tom (Ji'j) (Francine), Brandt, Karlee (Gerard) Kalolin, Lainee, Kristen, Noland, Cameron, Ainsley, McKenna, Shaya, Neveah, Brooklyn, Kynlee, Godparents April and Gerald Dennis and Godsister Isabella.

Visitation will take place at the Gabriel Centre starting at 7pm on Thursday, Sep. 11. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, Sep. 13 from Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel St., Eskasoni. Internment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
She was the most beautiful baby ever who was filled with so much joy and love, and most certainly, completed our family. Our sweet baby girl, filled us with so much love and will live in our hearts always and forever. Our hearts will forever ache in pain and sorrow. We will miss you dearly and are absolutely saddened you went home so soon, baby girl. We’ll pray for you until we meet again. Until then we will never stop loving you and missing you. May the Lord hold you in his arms forever and eternity.
