Born on November 10, 1930, to John and Margaret (Morrison) Campbell. She grew up on St. Peter's Road and worked at Eaton’s and Crowell’s in Sydney and The Plaid Place in Halifax, always treating customers and colleagues with kindness. Flossie enjoyed living at Williston House for the past six years, there she became reacquainted with old friends and met many new ones.
Flossie possessed a quiet strength, a forgiving heart and unwavering faith. As a devoted member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, she found deep fulfillment in her church family and served with dedication in the Junior Choir, Young People's Society, Afternoon Guild, John Geddie AMS and Friendship Guild. Her commitment to community extended through her involvement with the Cove Auxiliary, Kinettes and the Cancer Society Daffodil campaign, reflecting her desire to help others.
Flossie treasured her relationships with family and friends. She was a master of meaningful conversation, whether catching up with loved ones over the telephone, her preferred form of social media, or sharing stories and laughter during visits. She found joy in the simple pleasure of staying connected, maintaining a cherished daily routine of reading the Post and the Herald, always starting with the Family Circus, followed by the obituaries and then the news.
She is survived by her daughters Sandra MacLeod and Susan (George) Jessen, son Scott MacLean (late Cheryl Conrod) and brother-in-law Joe Braunmiller. She was the proud grandmother of Amy (Jason) McWhirter of St. Thomas, Ontario, Terrance (Lindsey) MacLeod, and Frank (Jacqueline) MacLean. Her great-grandchildren, Avery MacLean, Callie MacLeod, and Lachlan MacLeod brought countless smiles to her face. She is lovingly remembered by her extended family, including her nieces and nephews; the Campbells of Gesner Point, Mira and the Braunmillers, formerly of Hanartwood Drive, Coxheath. Flossie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank H.L. MacLean, her sister Connie Braunmiller and her brothers Roy (Dorothy) and Donnie Campbell.
