Francis Alexander Pierro

Chisholm was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice, whom he missed so much, as well as his parents Victor and Louise Pierro, brothers Michael and Peter (in infancy), sisters Rubina, Theresa, Yvonne, Christine and Bernadette (in infancy).

He was a son/nephew to Francis “Babes” and Anna K. Pierro whom they loved as their own and will miss dearly. He is also survived by his aunt Kathleen Pierro, his children Taraneh, Jordan (Taniellia), Tash (Serena), Celine and Nevada. They meant the world to him and he was devoted to them.

He is also survived by his brother Charlie Pierro and sister Alena Usher. He was an awesome big brother to Anthony (Francine), Francis Jr. (Brenda), Hubert (Dana), Herman (Christine), and Vera and Audrey Pierro. He will be missed by his nephews and nieces, cousins, friends and godchildren and his other family of brothers, the Indian Bay Drummers.

He was a drummer and loved to travel the pow wow trail during the summer months. He also attended community gatherings, graduations and even moose camp with the beat of the drum. That was a part of who he was and he was proud of his Mi’kmaw culture.

Chisholm was a renown drum maker and a teacher of the art of drumming, his sons following in his path as drummers also. He even wrote a song “Taraneh”, written for and named after his first born. He was a proud dad to all his children and they cared for him ensuring that he could be home and could travel around Wagmatcook in his scooter in the summer. He made his daily visits around the community, stopping at the cultural centre and visiting family and friends.

In his earlier years, he was a bus driver. Chisholm enjoyed fishing, making drums and teaching his Mi’kmaw culture.
