T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel

It is with sad hearts that we announce that Gerald Cluett passed away on Saturday March 28th at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Gerald was born on Christmas Day 1940 and was the beloved son of the late Bill and Myrtle Cluett of Colby St., Sydney. He was predeceased by his brother Bud (Vivian Daye) of Hudson, QC and sister Elaine and Lou Macaulay of Mahone Bay, NS. He is survived by his loving brothers, Sonny of Sydney (the late Liz Flood of Saint John, NB) and Jack and Veronica of Picton, ON. Gerald was a special uncle to ten nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews. He will also be missed by his many friends in the community. Gerald, was special from the day he was born, and though he faced many health challenges during his lifetime he conquered them all and added so much joy to the lives of his family, neighbours and friends during his nearly 80 years. He will be missed but loved forever. The family would like to thank the staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Gerald’s home for many years, for their wonderful care and friendship, and also the doctors and nurses who cared for him at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at a future date. If desired memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
