Glenn was born on September 22, 1955 to Gilbert and Clara Cooke in Balls Creek, Nova Scotia.
Not one who could sit still, he worked hard every day of his life. Glenn worked in forestry, trucking, construction and landscaping for companies including Tom MacDonald Trucking, Sullivan Fuels, Department of Transportation and McCormick Landscaping. His downtime was spent raising Belgian horses, participating in horse shows, parades and offering sleigh rides.
In addition to horses, Glenn was passionate about small engine repair and early morning coffees at Tim Hortons. If it had an engine, he could drive it. If it was broken, he could fix it. Glenn loved to laugh and he always had time to help a friend. Above all, Glenn was an adoring "Grampy".
Glenn is survived by his son Glenn (Melanie), grandchildren Jonah and Emma, and his siblings Blaine (Monica), Lindsey (Michelle), Elizabeth (Richard) and Peter (Casey), his aunt Alberta, as well as his nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his parents Clara and Gilbert Cooke.
Special thank you to Dr. Matthew Smith and VON, for providing exceptional care and to all of Glenn's friends and neighbours who brought meals, ran errands, drove to appointments and shoveled his driveway and much more while he was recovering from surgery. We truly appreciate your kindness.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to TW Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney, NS. There will be no visitation. A "Celebration of Life & Memorial Service" will be held on Friday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at TW Curry Parkview Chapel.
