She was predeceased by her parents Frances & Gordon Webber, her beloved husband Douglas MacDonald; also his siblings Noel, Gordon, Albert, Mervyn, Archie, Nora, Shirley and bestie Carol.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Janice met her husband while working at Cardinal Cushing Hospital as an Operating Room Technician. Married in 1969, the newlyweds moved to Nova Scotia, where Janice attended St. FX University before settling in Membertou. She tended to her family during this time and perfected the best darn cake frosting ever. The family later moved to Boston and Ottawa for work. Always a champion of women’s rights Janice was proud to work on Bill C-31 at Indian Affairs.
When her parents retired to Lake County, Florida Janice was happy to join them and even happier to escape Ottawa winters. In Florida she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and continued her career helping people. She ended her career as a hospice nurse where Douglas joked her patients suffered a 100% mortality rate.
With the passing of her husband Janice returned to the Family home in Membertou where she spent her final years. She is remembered as a cool Mom, Grandma and Great Gramma who loved spending time with her family and working with her hands doing crafts. Making stained glass creations and flower arrangements were her favourite pastimes. She loved cooking for her family and singing along to Meatloaf and Rita MacNeil in the kitchen.

Now I'll conclude with a wish you go well
Sweet be your dreams, and your happiness swell
I'll leave you here, for my journey begins
I'm going to be with them, going to be with them
I'm going to be with them again
(Song for the Mira - Allister MacGillivray)
