Janice Amarna Paul

July 8, 1962 – July 15, 2014

With saddened hearts we would like to announce the sudden passing of Janice Amarna Paul, daughter of the late Noel R and Sarah Denny of Eskasoni on July 15, 2014 at her home. She was predeceased by infant son Lisal Vincent, sister Dolena Syliboy, brother Richard Denny, and father-in-law Daniel Paul. She was a member of St. Ann’s Misson Church, Membertou and sang in the Mikmaq Choir. Her spirituality and Mikmaq culture were very important in her life journey. Janice was retired from the Membertou Band where she worked as an administrative assistant. Janice loved to play pool and has played in tournaments as far as Las Vegas. She loved her cottage in Malagawatch with the company of friends. Her laughter, quick wit, and her Michael Jackson karaoke songs will be remembered by family and friends. She will be missed by loving husband, Lance Paul, and a devoted mother of her sons, Andre Noel, Landon Daniel, and Dexter Cecil all of Membertou Janice is survived by her sisters, Mary Rose Julian (Albert), Jessie Denny(Afton), Joan Denny(Keith), Wilma Simon, Melinda Young, Beverly Jeddore, Kathy Adrian(Reggie), Sheraine Young (Nelson), Vivian Basque and brother Joel Denny(Lisa), mother- in- law Elizabeth Paul (Danny), brothers-in-law John (Joan) and Troy Paul and sister Sharon (Ron) Rudderham. Also survived by her godchildren Candace Sappier, Ryan Isadore both of Membertou and Noel R Denny, Eskasoni, and a large number of nieces and nephews.Visitation will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street, Sydney starting at 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 20 continuing on Monday, 9am – 9 pm with funeral mass celebrated on Tuesday at 11am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys (St. Joseph’s Church) 40 Cabot Street, Sydney with Rev.
