Big Pond
Kenny was a master of wit and razor sharp comebacks and timing. He loved jokes, a good play on words and especially his nieces, Kaylee MacLellan, Laura Miles and Marisa MacLellan and nephew, Cameron Miles, family Leona MacLellan (Mark Robbins), Burlington, Ont. , Joseph (Robyn)MacLellan, Keswick, Ont. and his mother Marguerite (MacNeil) MacLellan, Big Pond. He was predeceased by his father, Leonard.
Big Pond and the Big Pond volunteer fire department has lost a proud member of the community, but the community should be very proud of helping Mom and Kenny over the last number of years. The Fougere’s for being available any time to ferry Mom to Halifax and Sydney when he had extended stays in Hospital, The MacInnis’s , especially Roy for the transplant run on Christmas Eve many years ago and getting to him when he had a bad turn almost seventeen years ago when Marisa was born. To Martin and Marsha for their caring and Marsha’s ability to cut through his occasional intemperance.
To the Borden clan, who helped decorate every Christmas for as long as I have been away from Big Pond and Joanne, Mary and John’s help supporting Mom and Kenny for many years. To Anne Thomas who has been a loyal friend for decades. To the “lower MacLellan’s” for helping renovate after Kenny’s transplant stay in Hospital (you too John Michael), Paul’s endless trips above the road as a first responder, Dolores for cutting through the medical malarkey when needed and Bette for putting up with my frequent visits and ranting.
To the Big Pond Fire Department for their frequent responses to Kenny’s medical condition. The Cape Breton Regional Dialysis Unit and the Halifax Organ Transplant and Cardiac Teams.
I, we are very thankful to one and all, my apologies for having skipped anyone, never the less it was and is forever appreciated.
Finally a special thank you to my/our Mother who has been the main reason Kenny lived as long as he did. He loved you till his last breath and beyond. Rest assured dear Mother that he is with both His Fathers in Heaven tonight.
