

Joseph Lambert MacIntosh, 70, a long time resident of Edwardsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. His last residence was in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
He was the son of the late Murdoch and Hattie MacIntosh.
He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Welders Local 682 of Cape Breton for over forty years. He was a professional boxer in the sixties and seventies and was known for his punching power and ending fights early to knockouts. He was inducted into the 1991 Canadian Professional Boxing Hall of Fame, and he also coached his son, Scott, for the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia.
Lambert is survived by his wife, Paulette, Lower Sackville; sons, Paul (Sophia) Burlington Ont., Scott (Ashley) Bedford Nova Scotia, Lambert, Sydney Nova Scotia; daughters, Angela (Jason) Baltimore Maryland, Karen Ann (Ontario). Lambert is survived by his seven grandchildren and by sisters Susie and Shirley and brother Billy.
He was predeceased by his siblings Bedford, Sadie and Jennette.
At Lambert’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for the late Mr. MacIntosh will take place next Monday, May 4, 2015 from 5 – 6 pm followed by a Memorial Service with Rev. Bill Burke officiating, both taking place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street, Sydney Nova Scotia, B1P-1L4. A reception to follow in T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel, reception room.
