Our dear sister and friend, Linda, left her earthly home after living a full, spirited and love filled life. Linda was the daughter of Roy Joseph Keefe and Margaret Timmons and is survived by sister Jean Baker (Ontario) and many nieces and nephews. She grew up in Little Dover, Guysborough Co. and lived in Pleasant Bay before making Unity House her home in East Bay in 1987.
Those who were fortunate to share this life with “Linda Lou” were gifted with her love and connection as she cared deeply for her friends and home. She had a genuine heart and always expressed what was on her mind. She also loved when things were just so, as evidenced by her attention to color and design. She loved music and ceilidhs and expanding her circle of friends. Linda had a tender spot in her heart for animals and made countless animal friends throughout her life. She was an enthusiastic employee of the Horizon Achievement Centre since 1987 until her recent illness. Linda very much appreciated the opportunities and enduring friendships that came with her work. A co-worker once remarked Linda was a breath of fresh air.
On Linda’s behalf, we offer profuse thanks to her health care givers at the CBRH (4A) over these last few months. We know she touched their hearts and are grateful for the kind and caring nature of the wonderful staff and the Osprey Angels that took such wonderful care of Linda.
If it is so, that meek and humble souls arrive in heaven as a sweet smelling bouquet, we expect that Linda will arrive in our eternal home with such a welcome.
In memory of Linda, donations can be made to Unity House Society. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 am on Friday May 3rd at St Marguerite Bourgeoys parish in Sydney with Fr Bill Burke and Fr Albert Maroun officiating.
