It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Margaret Rose MacLeod (Gallant) announce her sudden passing at home on October 30, 2015. Born in Sydney on August 5, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Greta (Condon) Gallant.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Allan and sons, Brian and Glenn, both of Dartmouth; sisters, Anna Burke and Georgie Gallant; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Gerald, Kenny and Albert Joseph in infancy; brother in law, Wilfred Burke.

Marg enjoyed an exemplary teaching career for many years in the Sydney school system. In her retirement, she remained active in her community through parish work, enjoying time spent with family and her many friends. Her deep spirituality was evident in her kindness, compassion and love for all.

There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River. Fr. Duaine Devereaux will officiate. A reception will follow the funeral mass in the church hall. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
