Mari-Elouise Morrison

passing of Mari Elouise Morrison 31, of Eskasoni First Nation.

Mari was born in Sydney NS at St.Rita’s hospital on June 10,1993. She is the beloved

daughter of Charles and Margaret Morrison. As well as her additional Mother Ann Francis.

Mari was a fluent Mi’kmaq speaker and loved to have and teach her language.

Mari was the most kind hearted person you could meet, and was well known by many.

But the love she had for her siblings was unbeatable as she would say “It’s us against the world”. She was a very huge Montreal Canadiens fan. She loved playing baseball and going to games. She also loved her music especially playing her guitar.

Mari survived by her partner of 9 years Clinton Martin (Restigouche NB), her Big sister Cayla

Dutcher (Justin)Waycobah, little Kwej (Sister) Charllee Paul (Dakota) as well as her little brothers Duran Morrison (Rebecka) & Dean Morrison of Eskasoni. Mari is also survived by siblings of her choice Braeden Francis, Nicody Francis, Joseph Francis, Darius Francis and Naomi and Nadine Francis all of Naomi Dr. in Eskasoni. Mari loved her friends and considered many more as her siblings as they grew up together. Mari is also survived by her loving Grandmother Harriet Marshall of Eskasoni, Uncle Simon Marshall (Darlene), Uncle Billy Morrison (Curly) Potlotek Aunt Lori Doucette (Francis) Potlotek, Uncle Gordon Morrison of Eskasoni. Nieces Pako’si and Sipu Dutcher, Lydianna and her one and only nephew Onyx. Godchildren Casandra Marshall, Pierce Stevens, Jaelah Denny, Hoss Doucette, Geneva Morrison, Trenton Marshall and Ayson Francis. Mari loved her family deeply and shared a special bond with her cousin Willis Stevens (Skye) Paqtnkek as well as her Aunt Shauna Marshall (Eskasoni). She will be also missed by her 38 first cousins, numerous grand Aunts and Uncles, Extended family members, but especially Brianna and Royce. She loved all her family members near and far.

Mari was the funky soul type who got along with everyone she interacted with. Mari will also be very missed by her Friends especially Kwis Toney and Miranda Destiny Sylliboy as her and Dest called each other “Friend”. Mari graduated from Allison Bernard memorial high school in 2015 with her little sister and first cousin Joe.

Grandmother Barbara Morrison, Uncle William Marshall, cousins Terri Lynn

Poulette and Steven Morrison also her Godmother Krystal Sylliboy.

Mari was the most adventurous person you would ever meet she was always up for a mission.

Her most favourite saying was “You don’t even know, because you didn’t even try”.

Mari will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Thursday January 30, 2025, at the Gabriel

Centre, 50 Gabriel St Eskasoni, NS starting at 7:00pm and the Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday February 1, 2025, 10:00 am at the Holy Family Parish with Father Antolin Asor and Decan Thomas Sylliboy to Officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
