Mary Ann Francis

Mary Ann was born on May 2, 1980 in Sydney at St. Rita's hospital to Shirley Mae Poulette and James Robert Morris. Mary Ann was the namesake of her maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Poulette (Sylliboy).

Mare had a great love for her husband Kenneth Francis Sr. Their relationship started 30 years ago and they were married on Dec 2, 2006. She was a beautiful bride. Mare often enjoyed going on camping trips with her family anywhere on the island. Her love for the water was beautiful.

Spending summers floating on the Bras d'Or Lake in Eskasoni, while Kenneth kept the fire going on shore to keep her and the kids warm after swimming.

Mare will be missed immensely by her family. She leaves behind her husband, Kenneth Francis Sr., her children Chloe Mae Googoo of Waycobah, Kenneth Marshall (Gabby) Namara Poulette (Brandon), Charlie Francis (Helen), Reese Francis (Chasity), Kenderick Francis and Breian Francis (Savannah). Also left to mourn are her father James Morris, paternal siblings Lucy Morris (Timothy), Steve Morris (Jeannine), James Robert Morris Jr., Van Morris (Tiffany) and Corey Stephens, step father Vaughen Doucette Sr., and maternal siblings, Sasha Doucette (Stu) and Vaughen Doucette Jr. (Bern), grandsons Kenson, Kohen, Kaius, Karter and Asher Jesmond, Grandmother Georgina, sister-in-law Annie Marshall (Christopher), brothers-in-law Pius Marshall (Michelle), Lloyd Marshall (Judina), Andrew Marshall (Chakira) and Joe P Marshall (Clara).

She also leaves behind two godsons, Christopher Denny Paul Jr., and Kenderick Bernard, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored so much. Also surviving are her godfather, Brendan Poulette (Mary) and her godmother Isabell Young. She was very loved by her Aunt Audrey Stevens. Mare was her jolly girl.

Mary Ann is predeceased by her mother, Shirley Poulette and step mother Shirley Morris, mother-in-law Mary Margaret "Margie" Marshall and father-in-law Louise "Joe Masl" Marshall, her maternal grandparents Mary Ann and Richard Poulette, grandfather Noel Doucette and great grandmother Sara Woods, paternal grandparents Edward and Nancy Morris, sisters Renee Stephens and Ashley Morris, and niece Nevaeh Doucette.

Visitation will begin after 7 p.m. on Saturday Mar 21st at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni until the funeral mass. The funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Mar 23rd at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni. Father Antolin Asor officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Salité to follow.
