Mary was born to Michael and Jennie (MacArthur) MacNeil on May 20, 1924. She grew up on Davenport Road in Ashby and spent her married life in their family home on Champlain Ave in Sydney. A devout catholic and a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parish, she was also a longtime member of the CWL. One of her favorite places was spending time with Johnnie at their cottage in Grand Mira South. Mary attributed her longevity to eating healthy and exercise.
She is survived and will be missed by her daughter Brenda (Duncan) Lewis, grandson Mark (Ashlee) of Truro, sister Agnes Johnston and brother-in-law Douglas (Sonya) MacDonald as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Mary was predeceased by her husband Johnnie, brothers Arthur and Bernard and sisters Margaret MacNeil and Helen Bates.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6 until 8pm at TW Curry Parkview Chapel with a Funeral Mass taking place on Friday, Feb. 28 at 11:00 am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Fr.
