Mary Cecilia MacKinnon

It is with sadness of heart that we announce the peaceful passing on May 1, 2026 of our beloved mother and grandmother Mary Cecilia MacKinnon. Born in Glace Bay on March 28, 1935, Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Raised in Inverness, she spent most of her adult life in Sydney. Mary worked for many years as an RN providing private care to residents throughout the city. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always up for a trip to the Thrift Store to find her latest treasure. Mary also enjoyed crochet, baking, bingo and the occasional trip to the casino.

She is survived by her children Gerard, Arthur (Leanne), Jordon and Leah (Paul), grandchildren; Shannon, Stefanie, Bobby, Melissa, Simon, Neil and Brett and great grandchildren Isla and Eston.

The family would like to acknowledge all of her friends at the Tillock Drive Seniors Complex who became an extended family.
