It is with sadness of heart that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Mary Agnes Paul-Elliot passed away on April 13, 2026, at the age of 68 in Inverness. Born in Maine to the late Percy Paul and Mary Agnes Francis-Joe.
Mary Agnes spent much of her early years living away. It wasn't until late into her adulthood that she returned to her beloved community of Membertou, where she remained and made it her home. Mary Agnes was proud of her Mi'kmaq roots, culture and traditions. She enjoyed beading and other traditional crafts. She was also a strong woman of faith, a faith that grew more precious as time went by.
She is survived by her sons Christopher Stuart Allen, George Thomas Allen and Shawn David Knockwood, several grandchildren, brother Norman Woodrow Francis, Nelson and Clark Paul and nephew Paul "Jr" Adams.
Besides her parents, Mary Agnes was also predeceased by her husband George Joseph Elliot, sisters Marilyn Agnes Paul-Adams, Carlene Mae Paul, Charlene Rae Paul, Miranda Paul and Tina Joe (in infancy), brothers Percy Noel Paul and Conrad Paul.
Visitation will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney on Saturday, April 18 from 2-4 & 7-9 and Sunday, April 19 from 2-4 & 7-9 with a Funeral Mass being held at 11:00am on Monday, April 20th at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 40 Cabot St., with Fr.
