

The family of Mildred Mary "Millie" Pierrynowski regret to announce her passing on August 14, 2025. Born in Glace Bay on April 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (MacDonald) MacInnis.
As a young woman, Millie was employed as a secretary with the Khattar Law Firm in Sydney. She later met and married her husband Rudy and together they built a life centred on love, faith and family. As her children grew, she returned to the work force and was employed at Woolco Department Store, Sydney River for many years prior to retirement.
Millie was a devoted member of St. Mary's Polish Church and later Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She found joy in serving her church community and was a lifelong member of the CWL.
Millie is survived by her sons Richard (Joan), Keith (Colleen), daughter Lorna and grandchildren Stephen, Michael (Emily), Ainslie (JP), Andrew, Bailey and Brooke. She is also survived by her brother Jack MacInnis and sister Donna Boyer as well as sisters-in-law Victoria Aucoin and Joan Mosher and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Millie was predeceased by her husband Rudy, brother Art MacInnis, sister Catherine MacDonald, sisters-in-law Philomena MacInnis and Anne Pierrynowski and brothers-in-law Wilfred Aucoin and Henry Pierrynowski.
The family would like to thank Dr. Hodson, Dr. Xiao, Continuing Care, the Cape Breton County Homemakers Agency and the VON for their care and support which enabled Millie to remain at home. We also send a heartfelt thank you to our friends, family and neighbours who provided ongoing support.
There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River on Friday, August 22 at 11am with Fr. Norman MacPhee officiating. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family by visiting twcurry.com.
