Miranda Ellen Joe

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Miranda Ellen Joe, our beloved sister, mother, grandmother aunt and cherished friend at Kiknu Long Term Care, Eskasoni on Friday, November 7, 2025. Miranda was born to the late Benedict and Annie Jane (Cabot) Joe on March 21, 1968.

Due to her health, Miranda spent the last number of decades in care, most recently in her beloved home of Eskasoni and before that as a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care (Kimberly Hall). She enjoyed being around people and was very sociable. In her early days she was a willing babysitter for anyone within the family. She loved dances and community events of all kinds. Prior to her illness, Miranda made the annual trip to St. Ann's Mission in Chapel Island every July. Miranda was always a big fan of any holiday and even recently she would decorate her room for any upcoming holiday on the calendar.

Miranda is loved and will be missed by her children Joey Ben, Noel, Jeneatty, grandchildren Aiden, Elijay, Keaton, Colt, Amelia and Maria, siblings Patrick (Lucy), Dereck (Alice), sister-in-law Claudia, brother-in-law William Young, godchildren Juliene, Mary, Celina, Mikahyla and Garcia as well as many friends but especially Laura and Betsy Prosper.

Besides her parents, Miranda was predeceased by her brothers Joey and Benedict, sister Julia Young, godmother Margaret Joe and godfather Gordon Denny.

A visitation will take place at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni starting at 7pm on Sunday, November 16 with a Funeral Mass being celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, November 18th at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni with Fr. Asor officiating. A salité will take place in the Gabriel Centre immediately after the Mass. Memories and condolences can be shared with family by visiting twcurry.com.

A big thank you is extended to all of the staff of Harbourstone as well as the staff of Kiknu for the wonderful care provided to Miranda during her stay. Also a special thank you for Vivian Paul who went above and beyond.
