Born in Baddeck, he was the Son of Gordon Lewis and the late Annie Jane (Googoo) Lewis.
Paul was well known for playing hockey, and softball in his younger years. He was into hunting and fishing, and also loved playing bingo and cards.
Paul enjoyed visiting family and friends. He was well known for his good taste of music and his sense of humour.
He was a part of the Wagmatcook Angels softball team, #7. He also played for the Baddeck Minor Hockey #77.
Paul is survived by his one and only baby girl Justine Kelley Lewis (Tyler), step children Jaylene Kelley, Vernon (Vee), grandsons Easton, and Alex. His siblings Rebecca (Joey), Martha (Ben), Oliver, Matthew (Ella), and Emma (Christian) and plenty of beloved nieces and nephews, only godchild Lance Lewis, godmother Mary Anne Googoo. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his wife Cynthia Lynn Lewis (Sylliboy), grandparents Levi and Madeline Googoo (Cabot), Matthew and Martha Lewis (Paul), godfather Charles Bernard, uncles Stephen Googoo, Charlie Peter Googoo, John Lewis, Wilbert Lewis, aunts Margaret Joe (Googoo), Miranda Gabriel, Pauline Lewis, Edna Lewis and Janie Lewis.

Visitation for the late Paul John Lewis will take place at the Elder Centre in Wagmatcook commencing at 7pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Queen of the World Church, Wagmatcook. Burial service will take place at Wagmatcook Cemetery and salite will follow.
